Mathew Tharakan

Since its inception in 2012, Mathew Tharakan has been the managing director of Emvees Wastewater Treatment LLC. A chemical engineer by profession, he has been working in water and waste water treatment for over 25 years in the Gulf region. He has a wealth of experience in key areas of water treatment methods and its technology.

Mathew brought the first MBR plant (for sewage treatment) into the UAE, via installation and commissioning of an MBR unit at Al Dhaid for SMDS, with Zenon (now part of GE) as partners. He also led the team that installed the first silicon carbide membranes (CEMBRANE) in MBR for the ETP at a reputed oil refining industry in the UAE. The successful installation of organic solid waste management systems into a few food factories in Dubai has made Mathew a pioneer in his field.

He works closely with his clients, which has generated interest in repeating business with Emvees. His courteous behaviour, full dedication to project completion, his penchant for customer satisfaction, and insights regarding sales have been leading factors in this enterprise’s success.
