Innovative Water Management Technologies at WETEX

The Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre is currently hosting the 20th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2018), from 23rd to 25th October. A vital platform for water, energy and environment sectors, WETEX will feature some of the most talented professionals in the field of water technology. Innovative solutions and advanced technologies related to water issues exhibited at WTEX have been garnering wide attention.

The event showcases various water treatment and desalination plants, pipes, coolers, heaters, water purifiers, pumps and valves, state-of-the-art irrigation systems, agriculture,  horticulture and dewatering equipment. Stressing on the importance of rationalisation of water consumption , leak detection and treatment products, lining tanks, and other materials used in the water sector, will be displayed.

Potable water scarcity is an issue of concern that compels companies in this sector to come up with novel technologies for water production and storage. A global provider of intelligent water management solutions conducted live demonstrations for certain sustainable water tech solutions, at WETEX. The solutions that ranged from engineered membranes to water quality monitoring systems, rely on sustainable and eco-friendly alternative.

An in-pipe biological wastewater treatment technology that has the potential to recycle wastewater without leaving any waste by-products, was also displayed at the event. Solar energy can be used for the functioning of the pipe and the treated water can be used in organic farming, irrigation, underground aquifer injection and many other functions. The Sharjah City Municipality Agriculture and Environment Sector is one of the earlier adaptors of the technology.

The event organized by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority(DEWA), features almost 2100 exhibitors from over 53 countries. ‘ At the forefront of sustainability’ is the theme of the exhibition.
