Dubai will kick off the World Green Economy Summit in September

The World Green Economy Summit (WGES), a significant gathering on the future of the economy, is slated to be held on September 28 and 29, 2022 in Dubai and will be centered on how the world can move toward a sustainable living space and develop a green economy. World leaders and decision-makers from government and various industries will participate in the conference to discuss, exchange experiences, and form alliances on how to create a green economy that benefits everyone.

The WGES promotes discussion of effective sustainability methods, processes, and regulations as well as the utilization of opportunities to assist the shift to a sustainable future. It also assists in coordinating energy policy with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The World Green Economy Organization and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority will host the eighth World Green Economy Summit that will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center which will be combined with the Dubai Solar Show and the WETEX (water, energy, technology, and environment) exhibition.

The Role of WGES

The WGES has been crucial in igniting international efforts to encourage the transition to a green economy since its establishment in 2014. WGES fosters creativity for sustainable development, assists the UAE’s attempts to embrace new sustainable methods, and works to strike an equilibrium between economic development and the conservation of ecological and natural assets.

In addition to addressing urgent issues such as climate change and global warming, it has been a pivotal forum for global collaboration to address global issues, foster sustainable development, and investment in the green economy.

By the middle of the century, the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 seek to generate all of the emirate’s electrical capacity from clean sources of energy. One of the key factors responsible for the success of renewable energy initiatives has been the private sector’s involvement, which is a reflection of the UAE’s prestige and position on the international stage for luring major corporations and utilising cutting-edge technology.
